Floppy drives MkII
« on: April 14, 2004, 10:32:04 PM »
I am having difficulties using floppies on my A4000.  Original internal drive reads PC formatted 1.4Mb disks but not 720k ones and shows DD disks as NDOS.  Formatting any size, the initialization fails with the "Not a valid DOS disk" message at the last moment.  Is this definitely a hardware fault (computer or drive) or could it be a software fault with disk validator type thingies?

This is proving to be a real pain in the butt as I am waiting to install 3.9!  Anyone know a way of booting from CD to install on fresh HD?

(Checked Paula as suggested in previous floppy thread but can't see any problems)

Cheers  :-)
