Accessing early startup menu
« on: April 11, 2004, 04:59:41 PM »
Hi,

I just dusted off my A4000 desktop and need to get into the early startup menu.

I don't have a mouse at hand, so I can't hold down both mouse buttons. Is there a way to get into the early startup menu using the keyboard?

I could get into the PicassoIV startup menu by holding down left shift, so at least I've been able to reset the flicker fixer setting to something my current monitor supports. :)

Any ideas? Accessing early startup using keyboard, anyone?

With 3.9 BB2, holding down the Help key will get you into Early Startup.

Below that, you might try the keyboard mouse controls: Hold down both Amiga keys and both Alt keys (Effect of Left & Right mouse buttons), but I've never been able to get that method working.

That doesn't work, the buttons are read by peeking the hardware directly. Only controller connected to mouse port, and holding both fire1 and fire2 down will do it.

Ah, yes. That's right. Got a 2-button joystick to try? That should work. Then use the mouse-keyboard commands to move the mouse and click.
