Anyone else got a minor rant?
Kinda got one.
I was out gardening Wednesday and Thursday this week - our back garden has only been touched once since we moved in around September.
Even though we managed to get 90% of the weeds and stones (and some big-ass slabs and bricks too!) in Oct/Nov(which took 4 of us 3 solid days work to get done!), when we got started on Wednesday, we discovered the rain had brought a hell of a lot more stones to the surface. Now, instead of giving the garden a quick going over before planting grass, we took the whole day (9am-4pm) to go over the whole thing, de-weeding and de-stoning it.
We had to plant the grass on Thursday morning instead. My minor rant is that while it was strangely enjoyable, I now have a sore back, thighs, hips and neck due to all the hard work on Wednesday. We stopped every two hours for a coffe so we could stand upright.
If the garden was "ready to be grassed" as Sanctuary said it was then it would've been no bother. But it wasn't. The weeds were basically waist high!
Thankfully muscle pain doesn't really bother me - I can work through it quite happily, the only thing is if I've been sitting down for about an hour I'm too stiff when I get up and I can only move slowly (and Siouxsie can finally get her own back about me being old :-P) until the stiffness wears off slightly.
Thankfully it rained last night, so I don't have to worry about going out to water the garden, otherwise I'd have been more annoyed than I am now :-)
I'll try and get round to submitting piccies of before, during and after sometime.
