Absolute rubbish...
« on: April 05, 2004, 04:48:47 PM »
Hum,
I came across this replacement for Winoze xp...
It`s a `true` 3D desktop !

" Taking the known concept of three-dimensional desktops to its own level. It offers a new way to organise objects on the desktop such a icons and applications."

Of course, it`s rubbish...

But, i think that (given time) it maybe nice alternative to the usual square windose (on any platform, amiga included) GUI...

Perhaps for OS5?

I tried one (a 3D GUI) for Windows a few years ago.  It was terrible and unusable, and it didn't use hardware acceleration, so performance really sucked.

Well it LOOKS kinda cool... but it's probably a huge resource pig... and probably isn't very intuitive. I'd give it a test drive if I had an XP machine, though...

;-) From the screenshots, it looks more like 2-D application windows floating in a 3-D environment, rather than a truly 3-D desktop.  Still, it is graphically interesting, if not completely useful.
