Scala MM200 need dongle!
« on: April 04, 2004, 01:20:22 PM »
Going through a box of acquisitions I have here, and came across something labelled "Scala MM200 3000P". Diskettes, manual, but no dongle.

I wrote Scala - "...that version is no longer supported, but a dongle is available for $150.00..."

Um, no thanks. Soooo...does anyone out there have a dongle they just aren't using? Conversely, though I'd like to have a working version of Scala, does anyone want the software and manuals? I don't want 'em laying around if I can't use them, but I sure don't want to deep six 'em if someone can use them. A trade would be nifty, other just pay shipping.

Thanks, but that is not proper.
Still wondering if someone out there has the dongle I need
for a reasonable price!

Where are you located?  I have one that I haven't used in years.  It came with my A3000.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

You could always sell him the Magazine with the CD, AFAIK it`s only illegal to resell the CD separately.
On schedule, and suing

I believe the need for a security dongle was dropped when MM300 was released, or sometime thereafter. I seem to remember reading about it in one of the magazines. I bought the MM300 package and there is no dongle nor does the software require one.

Cheers,

Yeah, I remember that the latest versions didn't need the dongle.

Dont' really need Scala, but if I could get the dongle thingy for a reasonable price I would. I'm in Clio, Michigan 48420... if anyone wants to send me one!

That's not entirely true.  I have Scala MM400 and it
DOES require the dongle.

As far as I know, there was a version of MM400 that came
out later only on CD.  That version did NOT use a dongle.

I have also tried "legally" getting that version but
to no avail.  I need it since the dongle does not like
to work with my mouse adapters.

I bought a boxed Scala MM300 package, with manual and original floppies, but no dongle. It runs perfectly.

There was definitely a statement in the press indicating that Scala had been de-dongled. Anyone remember?
