Amiga500 - Bad colors in videosignal
« on: March 29, 2004, 02:56:41 PM »
Hello, the videooutput from my Amiga 500 is somewhat distorted.
It seems that the colors white/yellow in the videosignal is replaced by cyan, or maybe not exist at all.

Anyone got a clue? Is it broken beyond repair?
For all I know its not the TV or the RF-modulator (and neither my eyes :).

Thanks,
/johannes

Might be the pins of the Amiga's RGB out. Happened many times with the 1084 monitor cable.

If the modulator has been plugged/unplugged many times or the RGB-port was streesed/bent (the modulator itself is sprouting out, and can be used as a crowbar), the pins lose contact.

The Amiga video port is RGB (Red, Green, Blue).  If your whites turn Cyan, it means your RED signal is gone.

I'd check the RED pin on your Amiga RF modulator box, and the corresponding pin on the Amiga, itself.  It's probably bent/damaged/loose somewhere.

Pin 3 is listed as "Analog Red."  This should be the pin to check out.

Hey, right you were! Some lowlife have pushed the pin too far. Now I just have to get it out...  8-)
