CV64/3D and scandoubler
« on: March 28, 2004, 11:13:54 PM »
Hi,

I bought CV64/3D and scandoubler for my A4000 but without 10 pin cable that connects them. Does anyone know how to make cable ? What are pinouts ?

After making the cable - do I connect monitor to cv64/3d or scandoubler for Amiga pal screens ?

regards,

I'm not 100% certain, but it seems to be a straight 1:1 connection.  (Connect the same pins).  But I could be mistaken?

Once everything is setup, and I think you configured CyberGraphx for the Scandoubler unit, then you plug into the Scandoubler for both CV64 and Amiga screenmodes.

There is one complete CV643D w/scandoubler for sale at a norwegian site:

http://www.gibud.no/Files/ObjectInfo.cfm?Id=203628

The sellers emailadress is found in the ad. So if you wish to contact him I guess he might be able to tell you what you need to know.
There is also a picture of the cards with the connection cable, but its not very high res.

I posted this problem on http://www.amigaforums.com and wizzchris told me that he tried his cable and it seems like 1-1 cable

I made cable like that, but scandoubler returns some silly out of sync freq to it's output. However, when booting to CGX - CV64 doesn't work with this 1-1 cable - only when I remove it... :(

However SD seems modified, like this: http://brunsweek.metrohive.net/mod.jpg (green wire) is connected to one pin on BT chip. Any clues ?

Is there some jumper setting to allow scadoubler to work ?

Download the manual from here. There are some jumpers to setup (although they must be set by the previous user). They change the luminosity (signal intensity) if you use the SD out or the CV3D out for the video signal.

As for the CGX, check your RTG-s/w version and OS version: Old CGX versions don't boot with newer WBs (you have to skip the exec.library ROM-Update).

Manual downloaded - still nothing :(

To demistify few things:

1. CV64/3D works fine, CGX installed, WB all - no problem there.

2. ScanDoubler when connected to monitor (not to CV64 by 10pin cable) gives some kind of picture - but it's under sync'd. No metter what jumper settings.

3. When I connect SD to CV64 with 10pin cable (1-1) - nothing happens with SD, but CV64 goes crazy sync (like SD is doubling VGA mode), when I remove 10pin cable pic comes back to sync.

4. I made 1.2-2.1 cable (mirrored) and when I connect it - picture on SD dissapears, and nothing is on CV64 again - no metter what jumper setting are.

Can SD work by itself ? Or CV64/3D must be connected to it? I only want to play games :)
