Long time Amiga user, returning home
« on: January 20, 2026, 04:58:46 PM »
Hi everyone. I was a long-time Amiga user and long-standing Westchester Amiga User's Group member, run by Bill Winters.

I owned an Amiga 500 until it stopped working after a few years, just in time to purchase an Amiga 1200 and take advantage of the increased color space for my 2D and 3D animation work. I worked as an animator for a company that made CD-ROM edutainment titles in the 1990s. While the office was using Autodesk Animator, the Amiga 1200 allowed me to work on files at home when needed insuring compatibility with all the VGA files I was creating. That company eventually closed in the late 1990s and I went on to do design work for other companies.

My Amiga was put away and eventually donated to Bill Winters (who still has it to this day). I've always remained interested and sought out various emulation solutions, eventually getting a lot of satisfaction running Aminimiga on my A500 Mini. I hope to reacquaint myself with DeluxePaint and other pieces of software I used when the Amiga was at its prime. Thanks for letting me into this community!

Hi, and welcome to Amiga.org! :)

Must have been interesting and fun working on edutainment titles back then! Did you work on any Amiga related releases or was it for PC/MAC?

@pfontaine2

You are in the right place! Animation on the Amiga is great! I managed to get a second hand copy of Disney Animation Studio recently and love using Deluxe Paint IV and V! I too love AMiNIMiga on THEA500 Mini which allows casual DPaint dabbling in our lounge without my wife getting too twitchy! I tested all my Worms DC 1.5 contribution maps on it too!

I am also coming back!! I saw the Amiga500 mini and remembered how much I missed this platform! Anyone know what is happening today?
