A600GS firmware update help
« on: January 17, 2026, 02:51:35 AM »
Hi folks,

I have an A600GS that i haven’t played with much.

I finally wanted to spend some serious time with it, but have not been able to get the firmware updated.

I am trying to go from 46.1.805 to the currently available 46.2.1367.

I am using the Check Update and Install Update buttons on the A600GS AmiSphere Profile menu page.

The updater runs, and at different times gives me different errors.

Errors I have seen so far include:

- At Step 6 (fetching scummvm.deb):
An error occurred: Error fetching file scummvm.deb
Expected 127017448 bytes got 36 bytes.

- At Step 5 (fetching libcef.deb):
An error occurred: std::bad_alloc

- At Step 4 (fetching avcodec.lhapps):
An error occurred: basic_string::_M_create

- At Step 3 (fetching programs.lhapps):
An error occurred: basic_string::M_create
or
An error occured: Error fetching file programs.lhapps, expected 75038581 bytes, got 36 bytesz

I have run the updater dozens of times. Sometimes powering off in between tries. On different days. Every time it seems to fail at a different spot.

Email support suggest I use “Advanced” updater and go one step at a time. But my firmware version does not have an Advanced item or option anywhere in the A600GS interface or in AmiBench.

I am at a loss. Any suggestions welcome.
