A1200NG - Help setting up Custom System with HDF file

Hi,

I hope you are well and had a great Christmas. I’m new to the A1200NG but have a nice A1200 that I use most days.

I need a little help with setting up a Custom System on my newly received A1200NG as follows: All help is hugely appreciated.

1. I have a clone of my CF Hard Drive from my real A1200 that I also use in FS-UAE which boots up just fine. You’ll see it in the first image below called “My3.2.3.hdf”.

2. I have imported this .hdf file as per the image below into the A1200NG as a part of creating a custom system but I can’t start it up. I always get the insert disk screen as per the second image below.

Please can you let me know what I need to do to get my CF Hard Disk up and running as a Custom system on my super new A1200NG? I really have tried to look at all YOuTube’s and docs I could find today before posting, clearly I must be doing something wrong.

PS - I’m using the latest update on the A1200NG.

Have you tried deleting and re-adding the hdf? I had a similar issue that I noted on a post today.

Thanks very much for your reply. Yes I’ve deleted and re added the HDF multiple times and each time I am presented with the disk request screen.

I have since tried again with uploading a new HDF file and this worked so thanks very much.

However this is not the end of the challenge. Like you I discovered that if you then make any changes to the custom system and 'save' them the system does not boot and just goes to the insert disk screen and then you have to upload again the new HDF file. I have discovered that if you just make a change to the custom system config and click 'use' this is okay but as soon as 'save' is clicked that's it you muse upload the HDF again.

I have emailed the always very helpful A1200NG team and supplied them with  three short YouTube videos showing the challenge. I am sure I will hear back after the Christmas holidays.
