A1200 IDE Micro-SD Card Adaptor: HDD light always on

Hello,

I  have an A1200 booting off the main IDE port via an IDE to Micro SD Card adaptor. It works absolutely fine and I have Workbench 3.2.2 installed on it and it boots without problems.

The issue is the the case's HDD light is always on whether the micro SD card is being accessed or not. The adaptor card has an IO light and power light and these work fine - so the IO light turns on when the SD card is being accessed as expected.

I have attached a few photos of the board to help identify it. I didn't install this adaptor myself but being xmas the installer is absolutely jammed fulfilling orders before the year end so I'd rather get a response sooner than next month.

My question is: is the HDD light always on a common side effect of these types of boards or should I investigate further?

Short answer = Yes.
A fix is to put a 18ohm resistor on pin 39 of the cable.

Or if you want to, buy an angled SD card adapter instead of using a ribbon cable which will sort out the problem for you.
