Amiga 4000 doesn't work with Toaster 4000 connected
« on: November 03, 2025, 05:02:59 PM »
Hello people, I'm trying to help a friend with an Amiga 4000 that stopped working. I did the usual: full recap, cleaning and I also replaced a bad capacitor inside the power supply. The computer itself is very stable, working perfectly. However, it doesn't turn on with the video toaster 4000 connected. My friend said the machine stopped working months ago, so he has not much info.

I already removed the daughter boards from the toaster, connecting the main board alone is enough to prevent the Amiga from booting. I don't think it's a PSU issue, all voktages are correct. I also made a detailed visual inspection, there are no blown capacitors or ics.

I also cleaned all contacts carefully, including the central slot board of the Amiga 4000, it's all in very good shape, same for the toaster 4000.

Does anyone have any idea on where else to check?

Many thanks!
