Hero members from the old Amiga.org site
« on: September 07, 2025, 01:35:16 AM »
I would like to make a statement just to Thank some of the old-hands who were active from 2016 on the previous Amiga.org site.

They were and are Hero members that helped me get into the Amiga again after a long layoff. AllocVec, Chucky and OldsmobileMike to name a few.

I had asked that my previous profile [guest20923] be merged with todays account but hasn't happened yet...

Thanks again to all I've encountered here too.  ;D 8)

I have gone through members, guest20923 doesn't exist. I will a look in the database, merging is not that simple, as it means will have to manually alter database.

There is also no reference to guest20923 under users or any post / thread. Only this one.
100% not to be found any where (manually checked database). You sure on username?

Hey, thanks for the shout-out.  Just randomly pulled up my Amiga.org tab and saw your post.  Glad I was able to help you back then.  Boy do I miss my Amiga's.  I finally brought them home from storage at my old office last month and put them in my garage (a climate-controlled space, for whatever that's worth).  Just don't have anywhere near close to the amount of time I'd need to get back into the hobby.

I did get really sad to see the 40th anniversary celebration out in Cali.  Had such a great time at the 30th.  Skimming through their website, it was great to see the group photo from the 30th event.  At this point it feels like a thousand lifetimes ago.  😢

Glad to see the community is still going.  And if I bite it before having a chance to get my stuff out again, I hope one of y'all on this forum will track down my estate sale and grab everything.  😁

Also, unrelated, but if any of you are on Quora website you should follow Dave Haynie on there.  His posts are as educational and interesting as ever.  Even when they're not Amiga-related.  🤣

This is not going to be easy, as Database, does not show any of your posts under the guest account, tried guest ID, still nothing.
Why is it a guest account in the first place? did you delete your account?

I will take another look when I have time.

Thank you for checking. I can't remember my original account name. I remember I didn't follow the steps to keep it through the transition to the newly hosted Amiga.org site.

If it's a hassle no problem. Thanks anyway.  8)
