Sound troubles if Boot Jingle is switched off
« on: June 29, 2025, 11:57:17 AM »
Hi there

I'm having a bit of a strange behaviour with my A600GS:
If I switch off the Boot Jingle, sound starts to be weird. But let me define "weird":

- playing an MP3 or video file on AmiBench: they both play at double speed and pitch
- playing a MOD file with HippoPlayer using the UAE AHI mode: plays at double speed and pitch
- playing a MOD file with HippoPlayer using a PAULA AHI mode: plays at normal speed but double pitch
- playing any games (no matter if directly from the main menu or through AmiBench): sound at normal speed but double pitch

Switching the Boot Jingle on solves all this.

My current firmware version is 46.2.1135. I'm using the external audio out, as HDMI audio has never worked for any of my monitors (or my TV, a default Sony Bravia) sadly. But I think that last one is a known issue, right?

Is it just me or can anybody confirm this behaviour?

Cheers,
Michael

Curious. I'll look into that.

What output device are you using?   HDMI ? Rear Audio? Bluetooth?
