I just updated my A600GS firmware to 46.2.1131, the latest version with the video player, and after updating things have become a little strange.
Here's what happened:
I updated the system though the nomrmal update as usual, and it all appeared to update as normal.
After the reboot, the startup sound played as normal, but instead of the "Press any key or button to start" screen appearing, it instead went straight back into the update screen stating it was updating the "avcodec.lhapps" while playing the startup sound again (see first attached picture). After 2-3 minutes of sitting in this screen, I assumed the worst and that the system had hung, and power cycled the system.
After it booted up and played the startup sound, once again it went straight back into the system update screen updating the avcodec again (no repeated startup sound this time), but this time after about 20 seconds it finished and was showing the Amisphere screen.
The system now does this on all subsequent bootups, going straight into the system update avcodec screen for about 20 seconds before exiting to the Amisphere screen.
I have recorded a video on my phone of the bootup process and uploaded it to youtube:
https://youtu.be/vCehbMl-Qu4I cut two screens from the video where it goes from the bootup into the update due to it stating my real name and email address there, I have posted these two screens (with name and email blanked) below where it transitions from the bootup into the update. I also cut it showing the Amisphere screen at the end of the process for the same reason, after the end of the video is where it exits to the Amisphere screen.
After it exists out of the system update to the Amisphere screen, the A600 appears to work without issue, all my games and apps run, and AmiBench is also working, however when trying to play the Viva_Amiga trailor, either by double clicking the icon directly from the Video drawer in the Programs drive, or loading it through the video player (both methods) result in the A600GS crashing out of AmiBench and back to the A600 main menu.
I have also tried manually updating the avcodec.lhapps in the advanced update, but still the same issues with the system going straight back into the system update screen on every bootup and the AmiBench video player not workinjg.
Was the firmware update corrupt somehow, or did it not work properly when my A600 updated it? And how would I be able to resolve this issue? I just don't want to turn on my A600GS one day to it not working at all.
