I have noticed at several occasions recently that at the bottom of a page full of posts, the last one is shown "faded", i.e. with lighter text colour. Originally, IIRC, this was meant to happen to the first post after a page break, where it should be a copy of the last on on the previous page to maintain context more easily. But it looks like something has gone wrong with that logic?

See grab.

Best regards,

Niels

Link to example, as picture is too small to see anything.

For me, looking at large thread, its working perfectly fine. End of first page and begining of next page. Exactly how its supposed to work.

Ah, sorry, I might have scaled the grab down a bit too much.

The post I'm referring to is here: https://forum.amiga.org/index.php?topic=77131.msg863125#msg863125

And it is the last one on the page, as well as in the thread (so far), and no next page yet.

I'd just have thought that the logic was to let the first copy be "normal" and just create a dimmed copy on the next page when the next post is made, as a reminder of what was in the previous one.

I.e. in the case shown in the grab it shouldn't be dim, but when someone responds to the one you made (the one I link to above), then yours would repeated in dimmed form on the next page before the new response.

Best regards,

Niels

I'm wondering if it also works on a per user basis. As I'm very active in last 2 pages of that thread. I do not get dimmed reminders until I get to 3rd page.

I haven't found anything in the display settings which controls this feature directly.

However, I did wonder about the setting to show a specific number of posts per page - mine is set to 25. I don't remember whether I have set this myself, or it was the default. But maybe some algorithm fails with some numbers in this setting?

I just checked the thread again, it still shows two pages for me, with the post in question faded at the bottom of the second page.

Maybe you have another number of posts per page set?

Best regards,

Niels

Will take a look at updating things, when I get chance and look at this also.

Okay, thanks. Of course it's more or less cosmetic, only slightly function-related, so urgency should probably be low-ish :-).
