BATTLESHIP Game (1996)
« on: March 21, 2025, 10:24:52 AM »
Hello,
I am addressing you from Turkey.
As an Amiga lover, I joined you both to learn something new and to introduce a game called 'BATTLESHIP' which I wrote in 1996 on an Amiga-500 using the AMOS programming language.
I kept the data on an 80 Mb hard disk and after nearly 30 years I have updated, improved and translated it into English as much as possible.

I will present the game to you now as an .adf file (you can download it from the attachment). The floppy disk image contains a description of the game and (if desired) a small program to install it on the hard disk.
You can also install the game on a floppy disk and start it directly.

I hope you will be interested and have fun.
I would appreciate if you write your thoughts after playing it.

A nice, well-presented game that is enjoyable and engaging to play. The Intro is better than expected for a public distribution and appreciated.

Playing the game is smooth when instructions are in the guide and in-game. Marking about the hits with the right mouse button didn't feel necessary.

The PDF guide could do with grammar corrections but otherwise easy to follow.

Thank you for an interesting game.

@hggurak

Thanks for sharing that game! Made a short news item at amiga-news.de on sunday.

Since only registered Amiga.org users are able to download it here - how about adding it also to Aminet?

Seems to boot from disk on big box AGA Amiga but then got Program failed error #80000004 and the installer doesn't work!

Strangely works fine on a Pistormed A1200 though!

What's with dog leg shaped ships? They were all straight in my day not banana boats! Fun though! Good job in AMOS!
