Amiga A1060 Sidecar and XT-IDE/CF Card

Hi all, looking for some advice if possible.
I have an old A1060 Sidecar which I have now gotten up and running on my A1000.

Boots fine off the built-in 5.25" floppy, and I have an A1010 drive also connected as drive B:

I would like to add a "hard drive" solution, namely in the form of an XT-IDE card, which then has an IDE-CF adaptor attached to it, allowing me to use a CF card as the hard drive.
I purchased the Blue Lava XT-CF solution from Ebay (see this link: https://www.ebay.com.au/itm/126653191682?mkcid=16&mkevt=1&mkrid=705-154756-20017-0&ssspo=IsFl_enpTP2&sssrc=2047675&ssuid=EKdQA03uRH2&var=427696887388&widget_ver=artemis&media=COPY ), but the system simply wont boot from the "C:" drive.

Any advice on this?

Is it simply not compatible?

On the Amiga side, I don't think the side zorro slot is capable of autobooting a hdd. Running a hdd in the A1060 is possible  as here, also not autobooting but runs Janus to access the hdd. https://www.amigalove.com/viewtopic.php?t=818&sid=a5e07e9923ac120edc0c76e31789eff4

On the CF side I would only use Sandisk or Trancend cards formatted to a max of what the XT FS is compatible with.

A bit late here, as I stumbled across this while trying to work on a closely related problem.

I have a Monotech XT-IDE Deluxe in my A1060 using XT-IDE and have managed to get it to partially work. I can get the Sidecar to recognise and use the CF card as expected for drive C:, however at this stage I can't create an Amiga partition for use on the Amiga side, as done previously with my old ISA SCSI card and hard drive.

The manual that comes with the sidecar is unclear on the correct setting for the address sector, which needs to be set to E0000-EFFFF. (on DIP switch SW-2, switches 3 & 4 need to be OFF).
In addition, you need to set the address for the XT-IDE ROM to fit into an unused area in the Bridgeboard. In my case CC000 worked well. You can use a DOS program called 'Checkit' to look at the Sidecar's memory map to find a suitable unused area.

Any other (newer) versions of the Sidecar/Bridgeboard Workbench boot disk will fail to recognise the XT-IDE at all. At this stage I don't know why.

Because the old Sidecar Workbench disk prevents me from creating a JH0: Amiga partition, as outlined in the Sidecar manual, I'm trying to find out why later versions of the Sidecar Workbench disk fail completely. If anyone has suggestions it would be much appreciated.

After recently actually acquiring an A1060 It's great to see interest in the peripheral continuing.

I have a Parceiro 8mb ram / SD card device created by David Dunklee that does boot the HDD SD card from the Zorro slot with the help of a combined Kickstart/Workbench disk called Kickwork. The Parceiro came with a Kickwork ADF and HDD tools. So booting from the Zorro slot is possible. I heard the v2.0 Parceiro could autoboot but that may be incorrect.

Have you tried running the early Janus boot disk and then the latter version to set an AmigaOS HDD patition?

 I have similar tools for a GVP PC286 module in a GVP HD8+ II HDD sidecar for A500(+). The HDD is partitioned with the Amiga filesystem; then there's a choice of installing a PC HDD hardfile or PC partition.
The A500(+) must have been further developed than the A1000 to support autobooting from the Zorro slot.
