Hello

is it possibile to use both a Voodoo 3 and a Radeon 9250 GFX card on Amiga4000 with AmigaOS 4.1FE?
when i install the OS it only recognizes the Voodoo 3 and when i boot up the Amiga after installation there is no way to add or find the Radeon, what's wrong? I'd like to use the Radeon 9250 on the OS4.1 side while i use the Voodoo3 on AmigaOS 3.2 partition so i want to keep both in the tower.
Any suggestion is welcome

I’m guessing you are using a Mediator? Which way round are the cards situated in the PCI slots?

I remember when I installed OS4.1 FE it would go with the first card it found for RTG. Then would revert to a backup card like my CSVision in the CYBPPC.

I would check devs Monitors to see what monitors are setup.

Yes i have a mediator inside a full tower.
I guessed that the order of the boards could influence the installation process but i was wrong. AmigaOS 4.1FE seems to use the Voodoo3 if present and this is not affected by the order of the boards in the slots.
I made some more tests and unplugged the Voodoo3 leaving the Radeon as the only GFX board on my Amiga 4000, i was able to installa AmigaOS4.1FE but when i plug the Voodoo3 again i only get a black screen and some glitched on the Voodoo3 output.

Maybe worth asking over on the Hyperion forums. I seem to recall a similar issue. The 4.1 install also has P96 pre-installed Maybe worth having a look at the preferences editor to see which card it pickups on.

unfortunately Hyperion forum is really silent, 430 people read my question but none replied.
What is that editor you are talking about?

In Prefs there should be a picasso96mode or p96preference. When you run that it brings up a P96 mode editor which should show the cards it’s picked up on. This will allow you to add and edit/test screen modes. This also allows for the screenmode to be setup for you to choose card and screen modes.

oh yes but you can use it only after installation i guess.
After installation it doesn't detects the second GFX board at all  :-[

The second card needs a tooltypes entry in Devs Monitors. You may need to run the P96 setup to get that setup and then reboot. Then adding that card into P96mode etc..
