True, I don't really eat fast food (not so much for health reasons, its just uneconomical!) but KFC or (Unlucky Fried Kitten as me and my mates used to call it) is the best of a bad bunch.

In my home town (the scummy place that it is) the fast food chains and kebab shops are the venues for the ne'erdowells to  beat the living {bleep} out of each other on a Friday night.

Call me a social snob, but I think if I opened a shop called 'Genetically-Modified Chicken' in my High St, people would still flock there to buy crap food and fight each other after pub kicking-out time.

Back to the late night snack -
Spaghetti Carbonara is quick, easy and tasty - one of my Italian students taught me how to cook it last year, I was surprised how easy it is. Otherwise, an egg sandwich between two nice slices of bread with a little butter and loads of pepper is a good snack. You know when the yolk explodes when you bite into it and it runs into the bread, hmmmmm .
I like Amigas

Tripple, Fried Egg, Chillie, Chutney sandwich, with 4 rashers of honey cured bacon and a slice of processed cheese... Wash it down with half a glass of rum'n'Ginger Beer and an expresso chaser.

Those of you who would find this insufficent, can add a couple of thick slices of German Pepper Salami...

As a starter I recommend Mackerel Fillets (in brine).

Have you tried those dipping Pringles yet?  They're strangley addictive, especially when accompanied by the curry dip.

The perfect late evening snack doesn't have to be elaborate.

My fave Friday night post-beer meal is a grilled chicken kebab served with chilli sauce, salad and no onions...  Mmmmmm!

Well its the only decent take-away open in my area after 12am, its either that or McDonald$, and I ain't one for Macca's, would be great if there was a 24hour Burger King nearby, but the closest is in the city. Kebabs are quite nice, but one too many upset tummy's have forced me to give up on that option.

Yeah, pancakes rock...come to think of it, the only thing I really like on McDonalds menu is the hotcakes (fancy name for pancakes???), in my clubbing days that was the ideal snack on the way home, plus that was the only decent thing on the maccas breakfast menu.

Hmmm, all the KFCs around here close at 10/11 PM :-(
No kebab shops to speak of around here either, but there's plenty of donair shops, yum!

Another good snack is Ramen noodle soup.  19 cents a pack and ready in 5 minutes.  Throw a couple of inches of a green onion chopped and half a cup of shredded mozzarella.
Ummmmm, comfort food.
