Kickstart ROMS
« on: October 14, 2024, 04:37:27 PM »
Hi All
Am i corect in thinking that i can run programs and games etc... under emulation simply by adding the relevant Kickstart ROM ???
I own a genuine copy of Amiga OS3.2 and i can import the ROM files. However......the only copy of the OS3.1CD32 roms i have are those supplied with Amiga Forever which are 513kb AND....the GS does NOT see them so in order to play CD32 games i need the CD32 kickstart rom but where do i find one that is the correct size {512kb i'm guessing}

Many thanks.

If they are 513kb (524.299 Bytes) then they are encrypted and cannot be used ...

You should be able to install Amiga Forever once and get the decrypted files from that installation with some tools like this -> https://github.com/abcbarryn/decrypt-amigaforever

Or have a look here :

As it turns out, Amiga forever 8 has a tool to convert the encrypted ROMs to an unencrypted file and is of the correct size so will test with the GS later. Thank you for the link to those you tube videos as this was just what I was looking for.
