What was the last thing you did with it? Have you tried completely powering off and starting again?

I received my A600GS order today and have encountered the same problem.
Here is my full experience with it:

After connecting it up, I attempted to power it on, which took 2-3 tries, but after figuring out exactly how that works, got it going.

I went through the first time setup guide, configured my wireless, selected a generic 105 key keyboard (I didn't have one connected at the time, but hope to use a Bluetooth keyboard at a later date) and finished the configuration.

After this it went straight to the apps/games browser. I selected Super Skidmarks with the mouse, upon which the system appeared to have locked up - the mouse pointer could still be moved around, but none of the on screen buttons worked (add, edit, start etc) and I could not select a different application.

I pressed the button on the power lead to switch the unit off, which was a full power cycle as just pressing the button on the power lead would not turn it back on unless I disconnected the power first, but upon restarting, the only thing I get on all subsequent reboots is a red mouse pointer on a blank screen.
I tried it on my Samsung TV and also tested it on my PC monitor, an ASUS VS247H, and it does exactly the same thing, mouse pointer on a blank screen.

What’s going on? How do I fix this and get it working?

Please explain, in what way did it take 2 or 3 attempts? you plug it in and it boots.

After this it went straight to the apps/games browser. I selected Super Skidmarks with the mouse, upon which the system appeared to have locked up - the mouse pointer could still be moved around, but none of the on screen buttons worked (add, edit, start etc) and I could not select a different application.

Was joypad working? was the left side where game details are greyed out?

I pressed the button on the power lead to switch the unit off, which was a full power cycle as just pressing the button on the power lead would not turn it back on unless I disconnected the power first, but upon restarting, the only thing I get on all subsequent reboots is a red mouse pointer on a blank screen.

I'm not sure I follow, pressing button on power lead is exactly the same as unplugging lead. Button phsically disconnects 5v.

I tried it on my Samsung TV and also tested it on my PC monitor, an ASUS VS247H, and it does exactly the same thing, mouse pointer on a blank screen.

This can sometimes happen if it is not shut down correctly. I have experienced this myself. Its being looked into at present, as it would be nice to be able to solve this simply, without having to reflash SD card. This is currently the only way solve this issue.

Hi.

F0LLETT, thanks for your reply to my post.

While writing some responses to your questions, I turned the A600GS on again and noticed that when I moved the mouse to the top left corner of the screen, it disappeared as if it was moving under something. So I clicked the left mouse button there and everything magically came back to life again! It wanted me to go through the setup wizard again, but everything I set previously was there, and now everything just works!

I really have no idea what was going on before, but it all appears to be working as it should, from the software to the hardware.

I have one small niggle left, which is to do with sound.
The audio on the Amiga side only appears to be working when I set it to "Rear Audio Socket" - the 3.5mm audio jack on the unit itself. When I set it to HDMI Audio, I get audio in the main menu, but not when I start a game/app/Amibench - that starts in complete silence. Sound on the Amiga side will only work through the audio socket. Is this a current bug/"undocumented feature", and if so, is it being worked on to work with HDMI?

Other than that, yeah, it all seems to be working perfectly now.
Thanks for your offer to help though it is appreciated.

That's an odd one, if the sound is working in HDMI for the main menu it ought to be doing the same in the amiga side.

Could you check if any audio is coming out of the audio jack, when the main menu is set to HDMI and you start a game? Could be they have got out of sync somehow, but I've never seen that happen.

Just checked the HDMI with speaker on the 3.5mm jack, no , there is no sound at all on the Amiga side coming from anywhere.

Sound is only working on the Amiga side when I select Rear Audio Socket (3.5mm jack).

OK that eliminates the possibility that amiberry had got stuck on the rear jack sink for some reason.

You could try toggling the mute button and changing volume.

Not exactly sure what you mean by mute button... if you mean turning  "play sounds for GUI actions" off, that only affects the menu side of things, but I tried it anyway and it still doesn't affect the Amiga side.
And I already tried altering the volume levels yesterday... 152% of complete silence is still....

It seems to me it must be an issue conerning the software in the system that is hopefully being worked on (or on the todo list)....
Unless someone else comes in here and says "I have a A600GS and using HDMI the sound works on the Amiga side of things as well as the menu side just fine", in which case I would then have a reason to conact support.

Now I need to buy a set of mini speakers...

While running game. Press start on joypad, in menu, there is a mute and volume controls.

OK I've found what the problem was, it's my TV!
I just connected the A600 up to my PC monitor via HDMI and it works perfectly, sound and all, no problem.

Well that sucks. Everything else I've connected through HDMI to the TV works with sound, no idea why this one won't.

Guess I can lay that to rest now. Still gonna have to buy some mini speakers to keep using it with my TV though...

Might be worth checking your TV audio settings.
