Backup GS SD

Slightly hijacking this thread, but is there any other way to back up the entire SD card without opening up the unit and removing it?

I’m a bit reluctant to do so (does it void any warranty?) but equally would like a way of recovering if for some reason an update fails catastrophically (thankfully this one hasn’t, it just refuses to update to .795) and the system doesn’t even boot.

Can't see why it should unless you damage it.

I said I want to do it “if” an update causes the system not to boot.  If you ignore my comment in brackets then I’m saying:

“… if for some reason an update fails catastrophically and the system doesn’t even boot.”

The bit in brackets was just to clarify that .795 thankfully hasn’t done this, it just won’t update.

Sorry if my wording wan’t clear.  Thanks also for creating this thread; I should have done that instead of hijacking.

I did it, I sent a copy of my disk image to Amiga Kit when I had some problems.  I'm sure there is software to do it if you run Windows, if you use Linux it is quite simple to do.

Thanks.  I’m happy with the backing it up part, but just a bit reluctant to pry off the rubber feet to get to the screws to open up the GS.

I assume you can just glue them back on easily?

I used a plastic tool to slowly and carefully lift them off (so the sticky stuff wasn't damaged or left residue) and replaced them just slightly over from the screw hole for future access.
