Unfortunately, Amigakit takes ages to send customers' orders to them. A few months ago, someone at Amigakit sent me an email saying "You know there's only two of us here building things, don't you?" I think this means that Amigakit haven't got enough people working for them to deal with all the work that's coming in, so they should advertise for more staff. The repairers and builders could even work remotely, not in Cardiff, but post their work to Cardiff for delivery to customers, which would be quicker than now.
I'm planning on buying a 33Mhz FPU and a crystal to go with it for my new/old Amitek A1200 Hawk RAM accelerator board. I only bought this board because a failed FPU upgrade to an Amigakit 8Mb card has somehow disabled 2.5Mb of its RAM and I didn't want to be reduced to 2Mb on board RAM while waiting for Amigakit to sort it out. If I buy these items from any Amiga dealer within a radius of about 8,000Km from London, then they should arrive at my address quicker than if I ordered them from Amigakit. This is because I bought a home brewing kit from Alaska, which arrived only about 10 days later, so this tells me how long it takes to just put something in a package, post it, then arrive at my address. The first time I bought from the Alaskan home brewers, it took 12 days. There must be at least several Amiga dealers within an 8,000Km radius, so this gives me plenty of choice, but I don't think I should order from any Amiga dealers in Australia, because that might just take longer than Amigakit. I'll try Germany, France, or Ireland instead.
EDIT: I've bought a used but working 33Mhz FPU and accompanying crystal from eBay UK. They're due to arrive later this week.
