Hi

Sorry for the problem.

Please send us an email with your A600GS serial key and we will activate it.  Some serial keys inadvertently didn’t get activated on our server this weekend.  Apologies for the inconvenience

Where even is this A600GS serial key?

I received my unit the day before yesterday and set it up today. Everything fine so far, but no sign of the said serial key, needed for updates. As this is my 1st AmigaKit product I don't know where to look for. And it's not mentioned in the manual...

IMHO this should be mentioned in the printed manual.

In the menu, klick on System, you should se your serial key there under General

Thanks for the hint!  This isn't mentioned in the manual and nowhere else in the menu structure.

Would be good if the key is more prominently highlighted in 'General', e.g. with a larger or colored font so one could find out oneself more easily at least...

You don't actually need it, unless something goes wrong as it's auto entered in the registration form, which is the other place you can find it.

Then I must have messed up the registration form somehow...  :-\ The account was created but the serial not transfered. So I was not able to use the online-update functionality afterwards.

But as the updater is verbose enough and states that online updates are for registered users only I had a hint of what to do and was able to sort this out with amyrens' help.

As it comes to my mind now... another small glitch in the registration form:
The entered password should always be shown. Only that way I was able to figure out that seemingly no special characters like '%'", '!', ';', '$' are allowed in the password. I use them often for my passwords. If the registration forms entered password is only shown as dots one would not know that special characters are simply skipped when entered and do not end up in the desired password at all - without any kind of feedback that this does happen.

Thanks for flagging this up, this may in fact be a bug, I will need to double check the server side code, but IIRC only the username is character restricted the password can contain 'odd' characters. I do remember that I had applied this filter to the password field on the login page, and someone with an existing account couldn't log in, it seems I overlooked mistakenly adding it to the create account page too!
