Hello everyone, and congratulations on this amazing forum.
I'm completely new to the Amiga world, well, sort of. I had an A500 about 35 years ago, and recently, thanks to nostalgia and the fun I’ve had playing with WinUAE, I discovered the great A600GS.
I’m just a casual gamer, so please excuse me if I ask simple questions. Unfortunately, I no longer have my original hardware, and I apologize for that.
I’ve been struggling with two specific titles: Nuclear War and Sensible World of Soccer 96/97.
I have the original disks (including the base version of SWOS that is required to launch the 96/97 version), but I’ve also tried several ADF versions I found online, with the same results.
With Nuclear War, I just can’t get it to run. It always ends up throwing block read errors, whether I use my original disks or the ADFs.
With SWOS 96/97, I manage to get into the game, but when I go into Career Mode and select a team, the game freezes or glitches badly. I'm pretty sure I’m doing something wrong, but the strange thing is, the same ADFs work fine on WinUAE. So I really don’t understand what I’m missing here.
Maybe my original disks are too old to be reliable, which is understandable. But even with the ADFs I have, I’m not getting better results.
I’ve tried using different profiles like A500 and A500+, but the result is the same. Actually, when I try A600 or other emulations, things get even worse, and I don’t even make it to the selection screen sometimes.
Is there anyone here who could help a beginner like me figure this out?
Thanks so much for your time, and I wish you all a fantastic day!
