Are you talking about Magic Menu, Mate? The last, latest version I had, you could change the transparency settings in the preferences. As far as I knew, that was a standard with it.

Just downloaded latest version 2.35 clicked on the transparent button but still the same, I wander if I need a graphics card?
If this is the case then in a few weeks I shall have the lot, already got myself a Mediator SX 1200.

Hmm...I know it works flawlessly on WinUAE and Amithlon. Of course, both of those are using RTG, so...I would think that you would just have to click on the button, save the settings and reboot.

I do remember having some grief with the 2.21 version, in  that it would consistently add the prefs to the WBStartup drawer. After I updated to version 'blah blah (ie, the current version I'm using), it stopped that. If you'd like, Mate, I'll throw the version I'm using on my space and provide a link for you. Don't know if that will help, but it's worth a shot.

Cheers!

I could be wrong, but I think Magic Menu needs a hi/truecolour display to render menus transparently. Dropshadow works in 8-bit, but only by using a stippling pattern.

As it goes, I'm not big into the trabsparent look for menus (having toyed with it). Unless you have a fast gfx bus and CPU, it can slow things down a bit with large menus.

Transparent menus is a feature of MagicMenu, not OS3.9 itself alone. :-(

And for that feature again it needs RTG modes (hi-/truecolor) :-(

OCS/ECS/AGA modes aren't supported. :-(

Hi,

Um, why am I the only one to point out that this is also a standard option in Visual Prefs?

Thank's all for the info.
Yep it looks like I shall wait until my Mediator is in a tower with graphics card to see it then.  :-)
