Terrorist bombing in Madrid
« on: March 11, 2004, 03:13:15 PM »
At the moment, 173 people have been killed and 600 have been injured. I feel sorry for all of these people and hope that this is sorted out soon and these terrorists are caught. Here's the story...

I was shocked when I heard about this, at 12:00 the death count was something about 100 and at 14:00 it was already 160! :-(. I hope the Spanish a.org members and their relatives are allright.

Apparently Batasuna says it's most probably a muslim fundamentalist attack and not an ETA bombing. However so short before the elections in Spain I'd bet it's an ETA bombing.

At least one thing's clear, an attack of this scale takes quite a bit of preparation so I think it's safe to say it isn't a single person doing this.

Yes, sick it is
but what now, how to deal with it, what did it actually cause, what's the exact reason, why there? What's the appropriate thing to do for the victims?

Condemning won't help, I fear.

All very good points, none of which I have the answer to.

I liked that the King of Spain made a speech however to try to calm the situation. I suspect that what is needed now more then anything is cool heads.

According to last informations, total number of deaths has reached 200 persons, and still about 240 injured continue in hospital.

Hope that the responsibles for this will be caught and processed by the Spanish or International Justice.

From the CUAZ (Club Usuarios Amiga Zaragoza, Spain) we want to show our condolences to all the affected people.
