Amiga Explorer
« on: September 24, 2018, 12:38:27 AM »
Does anyone have a saved previous version of Amiga Explorer.  The new version available from: https://www.amigaforever.com/ae/ is terrible.  It requires a TCPIP Stack on the Amiga rather then the old Serial connection with a small app on the Amiga.

Thanks

I don't think there is a new version of the Amiga app. You could always choose from serial or TCP/IP. It defaults to TCP/IP if it finds bsdsocket.library. But you can force it to serial in the icon information.

On Windows side you can right-click the Amiga Explorer icon and select Properties (not Setup). There you can switch from Serial to TCP/IP and vice versa.

That would be nice but when I right click on the Amiga Explorer Icon (In Windows) and select properties, in the drop down all I get is TCP/IP.  I don't get the option for Serial :(

Is the COM port available in Windows? Are proper drivers installed? Does it show in device manager? Isn't it occupied by another software running in the background?

You are correct, I had to plug in the USB to Serial Converter to another USB port and then it worked just like before.  Thank you
