I am GO! for the Big Bash.
« on: March 10, 2004, 02:59:23 PM »
Yay... :-D my train tickets arrived today, my B&B is all booked up, my wallet is fat with cash... okay so perhaps that parts not factually correct but I can dream :-)

I am GO... for the Big Bash, and I can't wait.

Got my CD mp3 player all ready for the train journey along with the latest Total Amiga magazine, im just waiting on the CD32 to arrive so I can bring that along.

@restore2003

make it happen then :-)

Prety much all of the events I have been to have all be put on by users not by any of the big companies. Infact the last couple dont even have any connection to the big companies... all it takes is a bit of will power and organisation and you too could be sitting around getting drunk with a load of amiga users :-)

Slight correction : a lot of willpower and a lot of organization, with a bit of money to rent a place to get drunk in.

I assume this is the OS4 release party you're talking about - where is it being held?

6 of my 8 great-grandparents were born in Norway, as well as my mother's parents, so if that had not happened, I wouldn't be here. :-D

@ MikeyMike

The BIG BASH is being held in Peterborough, East Midlands, Uk.

Check out the official Big Bash Website .. The BIG BASH

@ Wayne .. Hey .. This event I started has taken on a life of its own .. Everyone seems to be "chipping in" ...

None more so than Alan of Eyetech.  The event was just So - so until Alan offered a MicroA1 for Raffle,  Since then everything has snowballed.

The days of Hammersmith are long gone,    This seems to be giving people a good excuse to party on.

so

Party on you Party Animals ..

I don't see the route marked "really short shortcut"... how far is it from the station to the pub?

Also I noticed the start time has shifted half an hour later, does that include the demo time for OS4?

I suspect the hall is booked for 5pm, but it will take half hour to setup so theyve pushed the door opening back to 5:30. The A1 demo I guess will be between 6 and 7...

@ MikeyMike ..  Its about a mile & half walking from the station to Westwood Centre.  If you come out of the train station and take the overpass into Queensgate ..the bus station is right in front of you .. Wife says ... Bay 2 goes to westwood centre (where the event is taking place).

Carl posted the half hour delay to give us chance to setup properly,  since then I've asked Brenda if we can setup half hour earlier and she has given us the go ahead.
