Amiga Software and MS Store.
« on: March 10, 2018, 09:37:17 PM »
Hello again.
I am curios about Amiga Software and whether or not Amiga Forever 7 and other will have to register with MS. Store.
MS. may force users to use their store in the future.

I'm not sure that I understand your question. Are you implying that in the future all applications would need to be purchased, registered and potentially hosted at MS store?

I am talking about windows software.
Is MS going to force people to buy software for Windows from their store?

I honestly had not heard that they were pursuing this.

For anything other than the software that MS makes and markets or has partnered with, it seems impractical. For example: How would you acquire and run 3rd party applications? How would this work for Open-Source?

That's a pretty hypothetical question.  I assume if MS goes that route (and it's looking pretty likely with the cheaper consumer versions of their OS), that Amiga Forever will have to adapt.  That's how life is, adapt or die.  ;)

I think that there is a special version of Windows that does just that.

You mean like for the iPad and iOS. If you want apps for your iOS hardware, you must buy it on de App Store from apple.
