Sonnet Crescendo ppc for the Mediator LT4?
« on: March 10, 2018, 01:59:37 PM »
Hi all,
Does anyone know if the Sonnet Crescendo is compatible with the Mediator LT4?
I know the team are working on the big box amiga's but I'm curious to know if they have got it working with the Mediator's.

They are if your mediator supports 3.3v or you can do a mod to the sonnet and put a 3.3v regulator in to power it. I have done this mod on a few for people.

Is this going to allow using os 4.1 with good speed? Or is the lack of memory still limiting its usefulness?

That's great, I'm pretty sure my mediator supports 3.3v so will try and get one. will I still be able to use my current accelerator with this card? and how do I go about installing it?

Sonnet powerpc.library currently does not support A1200 Mediators. I believe the developer (Hedeon on EAB) has had some measure of success getting Sonnet and Rapsody working on the A1200 but it is not as developed at the A3000/A4000 solutions. So at the moment, no it does not work with the A1200.

More information here on the sonnet wiki

https://github.com/Sakura-IT/SonnetAmiga/wiki

And on the massive EAB thread

http://eab.abime.net/showthread.php?t=76633

Sonnet does not currently work with OS4. That might change in the future but I don't believe it's currently being worked on by the team (could be wrong about this).

Sonnet works alongside most (if not all) accelerator cards for big box amigas.

Installation instructions via the wiki or through the eab thread.
