WHDLoad speed...?
« on: March 08, 2004, 08:00:55 PM »
As I am just getting into WHDLoad on my A1200 and A2000, I notice that they add some key functions - like "press F10 to exit," etc.  Is there some overhead to whatever is monitoring for these keypresses or any other overhead to these the WHDLoad method?  Or do these games run full speed?

I am amazed that lots of things  that used to need 1.3 run fine under 3.1 on WHDLoad.

I heard someone was porting Kickstart 1.1-requiring "Seven Cities of Gold" -- I wish they would finish it.  I love that game and have the orig.

Thanks    ---blakespot

Every game I've seen runs as well, or better than the original.  I don't think there is much overhead for things like trainers and exit keys.
Time to move on.  Bye Amiga.org.  :(

Hmm dunno. But it's probably interrupt driven so no overhead since you just press F10 one time to exit...same probably for other functions... But I don't know for sure how it works to be honest.
