Amiga, Inc. Hitlist
« on: March 08, 2004, 06:56:28 AM »
Tell me what you guys think of this idea. If we all clicked on over to amiga.com in our normal course of web activity (say, once a day) then Amiga, Inc. would get oodles of hits to their website and could show that to prospective investors as proof that lots of people are interested in the Amiga. We could all help give AI a boost by showing our support.

What do you think, sirs?

@ weirdami

If there would have been something on that site that were of any
interest to us, then there would have been no need to "fabricate
proof". Besides, it is the simplest thing in the world to edit web
statistics to suit your needs if you want to make a statement
about "user interest" based on that; no need to involve real users.
MorphOS is Amiga done right! :)

I don't see why ordinary users should be having to help out Amiga Inc in extrodinary ways.  It's Amiga Inc. that got themselves into such a mess it shouldn't be up to us to get them out.  Amiga Inc. have to do what every other business does and provide a product or service in return for money.

Amiga users have already done more than enough to try and keep Amiga afloat (including the whole $50+ thing), but there is no point in continuing to struggle with what is effectively dead wood, just because they own a name.

I, like vast numbers of others, just want to run HyperionOS on a suitable motherboard for example the EyetechOne (Yes trolls I don't give 2 {bleep}s about the name, just the product) Amiga Inc have proved a liability with regards to this, by signing stupid contracts with shady people, by making stupid promotions they couldn't fulfil, which everyone advised them against, and by being more and more of a general embaresement to the community.

I hate to slam on people's ideas, but I really feel that people's time and effort would help the Amiga far more doing other things.

weirdami: there are plenty of amiga/MOS programmers and other creative persons doing really useful things that deserve support. So, support those who do the real work.

companys don't represent us and don't care about us. WE care about us.

Anytime you see a neat program you like using, talk about it to everyone and even communicate with the person(s) that made it. let's support each other.

Uh...ok. Support Amiga Inc by flooding their server and costing HMetal more of his own money to keep it up. Good idea. :)

Its pointless since web data is so easy to forge. AmigaInc is in trouble and I fear there isnt much we can do before OS4 comes out and they get some major eye opening product out in major stores.

The only thing to save Amiga Inc would be to buy Amiga products.  Since there are no Amiga Inc products, I have to agree with everyone else.  Bogarting their servers would serve absolutely no purpose except to cost Ray Akey more money -- which it's plainly clear would be a problem.

Hi
I check their website once a day for OFFICIAL comment on the judgment.
Unfortunately the latest announcement is Dec. 2003.
IMO they should give reply 30 days after the judgment
(March 20, 2004).

Haven't visited their website for months. If something new appears, then I will most likely see it here.

I agree with Wayne.  The only way to keep Amiga alive is to buy their products.  Don't even think how big their trouble is.  I wouldn't worry except getting my products delivered in a timely matter.  Seriously!  I know the t-shirts were a big issue, but haven't they delivered your products you ordered?

I think that the ones that are interested are already clicking. :) A
few years back, I went to that site every day...sometimes more than
that. Got bored with it though cause on the most part the content is
OLD.
