NICE! Did you get the Cloanto ROMs & Disks or did you get the real deal? If you got the Cloanto stuff let us know if you have any trouble... (remember, workbench.library is no longer in the Cloanto ROM, it's on the Cloanto disk - at least for the A2000 - not sure about the A4000T).

Cloanto ones, the 4000T never had workbench.library on board anyway.

One of my Christmas presents to myself this year was an Amiga 500, which currently isn't working but at least only cost me $60USD shipped.

I upgraded my 3640/25 with a 060/50 processor.  Simple upgrade and booted right away.. However, it froze a lot at first and I was finally able to install mmulib and it seems stable.

I got my plipbox running and loaded IBrowse and it worked much better, but since I lost my VA2000, I'm running overscanned 640x480 (700 something by 500 something iirc) through a 8220.  It "works" but amiga.org didn't look that great... the site is too wide.  I switched to mobile view of the site and it helps, but I think I really need a higher resolution but I think I'm at the limits of ECS.

I didn't even know that it existed.  Thanks.  I'm actually using it to type this response from the A3000.

To answer your question as stated, correct, it won't work. Workbench.library must be loaded at startup with the Cloanto ROM. You don't have to buy the Cloanto disks as you can load workbench.library in StartupSequence.

The real problem however is, not many folks know this and users are inevitably going to mix old ROM & Cloanto disks and vice-versa. There's some users not to happy about this.

Do some googling... you'll see.

Not to mention, try to find an original A500/2000 3.1 ROM...ANYWHERE!
I need one and it seems impossible. You'd have to get a burned one somewhere. Of course, you caould always load a ROM image at startup too. But what a fiasco! :(

@magnetic,

3.x ROM's don't have "workbench.library" on board. Must use A4000T install disks so they they are on HD boot drive.
