How good are these "scandoublers"?
« on: October 30, 2017, 04:51:49 PM »
Hi all.
I have noticed that the IndivisionECS is out of stock, just as I finally have the money for one. Finally the money and product is out of stock. :furious::furious:

Anyway...
Looking at eBay. I have come across these type of scandoublers, or something... And I need to know how good they are in terms of lag and image quality. I need one such for my A600, and if there are any issues with them, then I would like to know what I will be dealing with.

First one that I have come across:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Amiga-ScanDoubler-RGB-to-VGA-500-600-1200-1500-2000-3000-4000-CDTV-SX-32-sx-1/131674985056?epid=703601215&hash=item1ea870d260:g:vUwAAOSwirZTrtIa

Second one that I have come across:
https://www.ebay.com/itm/Amiga-Scandoubler-Flickerfixer-A500-600-1200-1000-2000-3000-4000/282706944922?hash=item41d2a5a39a:g:Ot8AAOSwVFZZdIJy

Anyone tried one of them, and what are the verdict?
I really need help on this, as I really wanted the IndivisionECS in the first place. I have mailed Individual computers, and asked if it will come back into stock. Yet it does not hurt to look for alternatives....

I was planning on getting an internal scandoubler, but I recently opted for the cheaper option of getting one of these https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B00RMMGOGS

Decided on this after watching this youtube video https://youtu.be/df0R3gQavrY

I have to say, for the £17 I paid, it does an excellent job running an interlaced desktop on a modern cheap LED tv.

Very happy with it.

You guys don't have in your profile where are you from?

Ups... Sorry.
I am from Denmark, yet everything that costs more than 11 euro, and shipped from outside the EU, will be charged an additional 25% of the purchase price. Even if it was bought inside the EU yet shipped from outside the EU. Plus an additional 22 Euro as an vatt-expedition fee. Basically speaking. That is why I need confirmation and first hand experience reports on these two items. No need to buy something expensive that will be cahrged additional fee's, wich in the end turns out to have too many issues.

While I did get one of the 8200s with a lot of problems, in general I have had good results from these.  The 8220s for ~$5 are worth stocking up.
