Yet another Gotek question
« on: August 26, 2017, 10:03:48 PM »
I got this "new" A1200 fitted with an internally mounted Gotek drive. The software that came configured with the USB stick is HxC Floppy Emulator HxC2001 (see pciture here https://goo.gl/photos/vfgydmCCRtHoTA9n8).

This is the first time that I use a Gotek, so I went to every geeks learning academy: YouTube, to learn about to use it. To my surprise 95% of all the videos in youtube show an GUI different from the one I have, so I can really follow the same workflow.

The Cortex Selector_ADF shows up to 999 slots. You simply highlight the adf image you want to use, press enter, move to the next one and so on. Press save and start and voila.

The one in the picture shows slots (up to 15) and drives, A and B, for each slot.

Questions:
1. Am I missing steps or screens?
2. How do you use the slots vs drive? How do arrange the adf images of game with 4 disks for example? BTW, I do have the shortcuts/commands that you get when you press Help, but it doesn't help me understanding how to load multiple disk games.
3. Is there any guide with instructions on how to prepare a new USB stick with perhaps a new selector (i.e. with 999 slots) and games?

Thanks in advance for any help.

Yours is not quartex, it's hxc. But they look a lot alike. All you do is select adf, hit enter assight it to a slot. The bottoms on the side move from slot to slot. The number on the led shows the slot it's on and pair with the ones in the menu that loads if you boot and have it set to 000

Ah, OK. So mine only loads up to a maximum of 30 adf images, right? It's just to understand this thing better. 30 images is more than enough.

Any other difference that I need to know or keep in mind between my HxC and a Quartex? Are the USB sticks made for each other compatible? Where can I find a guide and the files to create additional USB sticks? Thank you

Should be able to do a lot more than 30. 999 if you fill them all up.
