Probably you've already looked, but did you get the disk with all the different config files?  I remember with mine it had probably 10-15 different configs you could just "drop in" to use.  Might get some ideas from those?

Yeah I've checked them out as well as some from Aminet and frankos old config but as far as I could see none had buttons with multiple lines of text/strings so I guess that might be the answer to my issue.

Still wonder why adding a way to make a linefeed character but not an actual linefeed but I guess it might be used properly elsewhere and it was laziness from the manual makers to list all these strings together under the text "You are able to have buttons that automatically update their text contents." even though not all are actually for buttons.

So I've worked on this DOpus4 DirWork 2.1 lookalike config for a long time now, making incremental improvements over the years. As flexible as DirWorks configuration is there's of cause still limitations to work with and around and a few things just can't be made to work or look exactly alike but over all it's close and I'm pleased with the result... so far... got a few minor ideas left to try out.

I know there's a Doofus config already in circulation doing some of this and I admit to have used it as inspiration for my work, however as I've said earlier I felt it fell short on too many things so that's what prompted me to make my own take on it.

Feel free to leave your comments and suggestions... however I like to remind you this was meant to get as close to the default DOpus config as I could, not improve on it. If you want to have a go at it you can download it here: DWopus1.1.lha

First here's a picture of DOpus for comparison:

And here's my DirWork render of that:

I had an alternative render that got rid of the outer border completely since it could not be made to look exactly like DOpus, however I decided against this in the end.

Includes DOpus layout of menues:

Includes an Iconified config to emulate DOpus iconify function:

Includes an Help config to emulate DOpus help function:
