Amiga 4000t scam on ebay
« on: July 03, 2017, 10:20:06 PM »
BEWARE AMIGANs,
Some of you might of seen this Amiga 4000t on US ebay:
http://www.ebay.com/itm/Ultimate-Amiga-4000T-Loaded-/352104304575?hash=item51fb0d4fbf:g:mJkAAOSwN2VZWgrZ

Beware, this is a scam i think. I was the Buy It NOW winner and the guy sent me this official looking invoice that claims to be from ebay@Ebay.com:

Something smells dirty here. First the odd stuff:
His paypal button is his own, not a official BIN.
the transaction doesnt show up in ebay purchases.
this odd invoice was sent that ebay cant verify.
he insists on Moneygram payment only which ebay doesn't allow.
the payment wants to go to the UK,but he is from Georgia.
he wouldn't take a certified bank check from me instead.
Moneygram doesn't allow credit card payment to go thru,so no recourse if you are cheated.
Too many red flags here!
He is either a smart crook or is trying to thwart all ebay fees, not sure which.
I called ebay and they say this does not look right and voilates their terms.
I urge everyone to avoid this. I sent him a email about this and he has quit replying to me now.
All the choices he specifies are to make the transaction untrackable.
Here is part of the invoice #(ebay cant verify this # and says its not theirs):

Good news! eBay transaction is approved, buyer and seller are insured!   At  seller request, we have verified all the details of this transaction.  We concluded that they are accurate and item actually exists, and both  parties are insured. Please follow our instructions to complete the  transaction safely.
 eBay Transaction #KLWQ82884603484 approved!
Thank you for shopping on eBay. ()
Bellow you have the Payment Instructions            Item Name:

   Seller:

   Item Price:

   Payment Method:

   Shipping Method:

     Current Status:

Good on you for posting here. I saw this earlier today and thought it was a scam as well. I wasn't sharp enough to think of warning people here. Definitely not a safe auction.

Yes, to be avoided, payment outside of Paypal will not afford you the buyer protection you might need in order to get a refund.

And the lack of a proper eBay invoice is highly suspicious.

I've run into similar scams via eBay Motors.

That same Ultimate Amiga 4000T Loaded with same picture has been listed several times on eBay over the years using different accounts. Yes, it's a scam. The original real item was sold a long time ago.

It's par for the course for Canadians I guess? You  can't even grasp simple concepts like gender and how it's the SAME as  biological sex i.e. whether you've got XX (female) or XY (male)  chromosomes is a given! Anyone would think that non-polar sexual  identity scales are a hard fact based science rather than a way of  trying to justify 'swinging' both ways or refusing to treat children  with some sort of identity trauma! In the sad case below it's simply to  confuse their child even further in an confusing world. Chromosomes are  an absolute in regards to gender! The same sort of absolutes occur on  eBay; never to trust an ebayer that can't be bothered to spell check us  use proper grammar! ;-)

@JJ

It's called stopping the rot and holding on to common sense (and having a bit of a laugh at the expense of non-polar pushing deluded hippy parents to be honest)! If no one  gets a handle on this political correct nonsense next thing we know the  Welsh Assembly will get crazy outlandish ideas too and will start  prosecuting parents for lovingly disciplining their OWN children. Heaven  forbid we try bringing up well behaved well adjusted children rather  than mollycoddled and overly sensitive safe space loving little Buddhas!  If you're going to define this century by ridiculous liberal agenda  ideas then you need a few jibes directed your way too. Next you'll be  campaigning for the right to marry animals! :-)

Oh yeah and  enough with the cussing! I guess a lapse into potty mouth is directly  related to a lack of discipline whilst growing up too? That or too much  Eastenders?

All this, and "loving" Welsh discipline.
I don't even hit my dogs (as that form of negative reinforcement doesn't work with some breeds).

Maybe BigD has had this crap beat into him, eh?
And we're off diverting another thread, must be God's will (or serve his purpose).

Holy cow, people! Settle down! We all know that the extremists on both sides are bad. We shouldn't be too PC, but we also shouldn't disparage people who are different.

On the other hand, we SHOULD disparage those who wish to force their desire to be PC on everyone else, and we SHOULD disparage those who wish to force their views about marriage, gender, religion and other things on everyone else.
