VERY pretty, indeed.  Feels good to see such a beast had been put to good use.

I was just about to post this on amiga.org myself. It seems that if an A4000T is on your wish list, then this would be the one and only to go for.

Hmm.. Mine has this and more in it, definitely watching this one and see where it ends! Not that I would ever sell mine in the foreseeable future! Good luck with the sale mate!

Thanks for the comments guys. Yes it's a monster machine and served me very well over the years... I hope it goes to a good home.

There are some higher resolution pics here if anyone's interested:

How fast is the PPC? I don't see it in the description or the whichamiga screenshot. Of course I could be blind and missed it :)

I see the current bid is £1516 ......  for a 20 year old piece of kit with a power PC accelerator card that is 240mhz max

And people think  £1699 inc vat is expensive for a base Amigaone X5000 which is going to be a lot more powerful than this (admittedly great set up )
Amigaone X5000 4GB with Radeon HD 7750 and Amiga OS 4.1 FE Pre-Release

Amigaone 500 2GB with Radeon 5450 and Amiga OS 4.1 FE update 1

Amiga 1200 with ACA 1231/42 accelerator and Amiga OS3.9

Amiga CD32

The (very) big difference:
In 10 years, the A4000T will be worth the same or probably more.

Every piece of Amiga kit I ever bought is worth more now than when I bought it, usually considerably more.
I enjoy them all now, but also see it as a future investment.

Can you say the same for NG gear ?

Besides, the nostalgia factor is powerful and can't be reasoned with :)

You also have to consider that only ONE person can buy this A4000T, but anyone/everyone can order a new X5000.  Demand for A4000T's still seems to be pretty high....much higher than supply.

Yes. This is pretty much the 'holy grail' for people who want to obtain a classic Amiga. I would love one as would most Amiga fans. Good luck to the bidders on this. I thought about bidding but that's a hard sell to the wife haha. Besides, I'd just use to to play games and I can do that on my existing machine.

If I had to spend the cash on this or an X5000 I would choose this any day of the week. It will hold its value should I ever want to sell it down the road. It is the flagship of a classic computer range.  The X5000 is just a PPC-based hobby board in a clone PC case.

I'm afraid I'm not exactly sure. I bought the beast in around '97 from a UK company (White Knight Technology I think they were called) and they handled the build for me. I just asked them for a super setup.

I've never done any overclocking so I'd imagine it runs at either 180 or 200 MHz. Would anyone know the best way for me to find this out using software?

I think SysSpeed (http://aminet.net/util/moni/sspeed26.lha) will tell it.

SysSpeed, Scout, WhichAmiga, plenty of other things. Just about anything other than SysInfo, lol. ;)

I'm sure whoever built the system included a few of these tools, already. I'd fire it up and check what's installed already. There's gotta be something. :)
