How likely is it that a Catweasel MK5 will be released and if so would be this year or next year? Thanks.

Doubtful, the use for it has become very limited in these days of Gotek.

Correct me if I've missed something but doesn't Gotek serve an entirely different purpose.  USB floppy emulation for disk files.

Catweasel Mk4 is for reading non standard floppy discs using a typical PC floppy drive.

Supercard and Kryoflux controller pretty much replace the function but Catweasel might appeal to some people more than those since it has a socket for SID chips and and there also ports for connecting Amiga keyboards, mice and joysticks.

@fondpondforever

Is Catweasel Mk5 an actual product or just a rumour?  I though the last revision was the Mk4.  If you want to find out if Mk5 is an actual product that will be produced if if there'll be another run of Mk4s then it best to contact Jens himself since he's the only one who will be in a position to know.

Well i Quote Jens from an EAB post!

"Catweasel: I get frequent requests, and therefore this is one of the first projects that I have planned for one of the two new developers I have hired (both will start on march 1st, 2017). Rest assured that it *will* add to the market, as there's a number of things that neither Kryoflux, nor SuperCard Pro address. Both Kryoflux and SuperCard Pro are nice examples of "me-too-business" compared to actual development from scratch with a clear target in mind. Catweasel has set the bar, and those two copies are barely jumping it. It's time to raise the bar again."

Love the confidence!  I use a SuperCard and it is very useful but it is USB.  Having a PCI/Zorro card is VERY handy, especially if the PCI card can be recognized by the underlying BIOS and OS to provide replacement for the now-missing motherboard floppy controllers, especially one which can read and write foreign formats.

I emailed Jens from Individual Computers about half a week ago and asked him this:

Hello, will there be a Catweasel MK5 released? Thanks.
and he replied and said this:

Hi,

yes, I specifically hired a new developer for that project, he will start on march 1st, 2017. I hope to present the first prototype after summer 2017.

so short,

Jens Schönfeld
