Pure luck! It was on a whim I decided to pull into the new goodwill store here in town!  Right place at the right time!

I'm going through and testing them one at a time starting tomorrow after work, plucking out the batteries as I go.

I also got a 1084S monitor and some weird external scsi hdd box.  The lady at the library really had no idea she had one of the 2500s set up in the library itself with a mag vga monitor (connected to nothing) and the mouse/joystick switcher and that weird 3000 mouse, and the 3000's tape drive.  She said take it all because if I didn't she was going to donate it to the high school for them to rip up and use for soldering practice!!  :-o  :-o  :-o NOOOOOOOOOOOOO!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

I'm sorry to inform you that you have done something rather foolish. You've used up all your good karma for the year and it's only March 1st. tsk tsk tsk.

Must have been someone else's karma because I never get this lucky LOL

I tried out the A3000UX.  It boots fine, the onboard flicker fixer looked great on my pc monitor, but it has an installation of Unix on it.  I turned it on, the hdd clicked a bit then came up to some text screen with a font that looks like topaz 8 from kickstart 1.x.  said something about structures on the disk, then reset itself and came back faster  this time, but then prompted for a login and password.  Who knows what they are!  I'm not going to mess with it for a while, I'll go through the A2500s first and see what they have.

Cheers :pint:

Don't format the HD, it's a pity to lose the rare AMIX. Buy a new one instead. The A3000UX is a collector's item.

agreed with cass.

On another note, the site detailing your find seems to either be a bit old, or you were lost in a timewarp when you wrote it :-)

"Amiga Rescue March 2003!"

Isnt it 2004? ;-)

Nice  :-)

Oh, BTW, that video card looks like a Microway flicker-fixer. I have one in my A2000. There should be a DIP socket under the bracket shield with some ratnest wires configuring the video output?

No problem! It's an old quantum 210S scsi drive so I'd rather replace it anyway.  Somehow when I booted it up I thought to myself that if I formatted this drive I would feel some kind of guilt.  Glad I didn't bother with it then!
