New Xorro Development Board?

Hello, I saw the new Xorro Development Board (which is coming soon) on A-eon's website which looks very interesting and was wondering how it is different from the Project Board. Thanks.

i think they're the same thing; just named differently on different sites.

They are different. If you look at the Appearance of the Development Board you can see new physical features on it that the Project Board doesn't have. Plus under the picture of the Dboard it says 'Coming Soon' whereas the Pboard has been out for a few years.

Why do you care?  Do you even own a NG Amiga?  Have you ever seen anything developed using this board?

FWIW, I googled up pictures of what it is I assume you're talking about.  There does indeed appear to be two different designs.  Although I'd take anything on this website with a grain of salt.

Lyle Hazelwood seems to be the only one working on Xena/Xorro.  The XMOS chip and dedicated slot is also on the X5000 but not the A1222.

This remind me of the GeekPort available on the BeBox, don't know if it has been used for anything thought.

place, that one could build upon. eagle or kicad, maybe eagle format as everything imports that...

I guess A-eon will announce it if it's a new board or not. To me it seems to have been put in the pipeline for the AmigaOne X5000 release. Would make sense but who knows hey.

There's no new board.  The semi populated one is the same board that Varisys used in this video from 2012.

All boards are full length, the smaller board in the photo was simply shortened with a hacksaw to demonstrate that you can cut it to size if need be.

Still can't believe they wasted money reimplementing xorro/Xena on x5000.
Its painfully obvious that its a waste of space and money (pretty much zero use in 5 years on x1000,.... heck pretty much zero *ideas* about what to do with it still).

Dumbest idea in a long, long time in Amiga-land, and there's been some doozies.

"Let's make a hugely expensive machine that is outgunned by 10 year old systems and $99 modern devices and then add even more to the cost by adding a gimmick port that clearly has no practical use and will never actually get used....."

If not what other cool things could you do on this Board when installed in a Next Generation Amiga. Is it like a Arduino Board or is it different to this. Thanks.

(1)  Because their website is utter %&$#?@!%&$#?@!%&$#?@!%&$#?@!e, and completely outdated.

(2)  Has anyone bought one?  I'm going to guess that number would be in the double-digits, at best.  Doesn't bode well for developing & releasing future boards if no one is interested in the ones available now.

(3)  Haven't you been reading this thread?  No, no one has developed jack-**** with these boards.

(4)  Arduino contains a processor and ports, and is basically like a mini self-contained computer.  It has absolutely 0% in common with the project board.

(5)  Are you just trolling with these questions?  Because really, this is getting pretty ridiculous.  :whack:  :madashell:  :madashell:
