The current EBAY pricing is an auction price for early adapters who... "just gotta have it" and sold to the highest bidder to fund development so Majsta insn't killing himself.

The Vampire 500 is supposed to be at least $250 euro range, or a bit higher... but not $500 - 600. The previous pricing ($150) was at or below cost and not really manageable long term.

The team doesn't want to price gouge.

It looks like the longer you wait the more refined they become too.

At 300€, which is only slightly better than the pricing of the eBay posted prototypes.

I wanted a Vampire for all my Amigas, but after this price jump I'll settle for one.
Hopefully the 1200 version will stay in this price range.

At 300%&$#?@!%&$#?@!%&$#?@!8364;, which is only slightly better than the pricing of the eBay posted prototypes.
The average selling price for the V500V2+ on Majsta's eBay actions is $617.11, the cheapest went for $537, if you include the earlier non-plus ones the average would be even higher and the cheapest only drops to $533. So 300Eur is more than slightly better than the eBay prices which don't guarantee you'd win one, where as you are guaranteed to get one at 300Eur as long as they are able to maintain that price (should be OK but if Intel/Altera decide to add $100 to the price of the FPGA then that's beyond the control of the Apollo/Vampire guys).

I think Jens has accelerators for around $250 range for fast ones. Might be for A1200 but all in all  Vampire is a very good deal which allows them to do it right.
I saw somewhere the kickstarter for Vampire Amiga cases in black, red. Looks like some fun times for enthusiasts.

It's a good price for anyone who wants the best 68k performance on their Amiga. Arguing about the value of that on an A500 could be ... interesting.

And these will be assembled professionally (which adds to the cost). Can't really beat it for an internal accelerator/RAM/IDE/RTG solution.
