For sale : upgarde kit 060 100 Mhz for the CyberStorm MK2
« on: August 16, 2016, 09:14:17 AM »
For sale complete upgrade kit for the CyberStorm MK 2

- new 68060 rev6 71E41J with MMU & FPU
- new 040/060 adapter two stages version factory soldering
- new rad + fan
- new 100 Mhz oscillator low profil

Working fine with original Kickstart 3.0 and 3.1

Two case for the installation :

1/ you have a 68040 already installed : only remove it, and plug the 040/060 adapter. Remove the original oscillator and plug the 100 Mhz one. Be carefull at the dot, see picture (red arrow) !

2/ you have a 68060 already installed : you have to put back the CyberStorm into the 040 state. You need to switch two resistors, remove the onboard regulator and move a JMP (http://leblogdecosmos.blogspot.fr/2011/01/mkii-040-060.html). Remove the original oscillator and plug the 100 Mhz one. Be carefull at the dot, see picture (red arrow) !

Tested during about 1 hour on my MK2, working perfectly with very low temperature, about 36°

Three kits available only, be quick !!

Ok, I did more checking, always with Quake 1 because the game use the Fpu a lot...

After many time of Quake running, maybe 1 hour 1/2, the Amiga 4000 crash...

The temperature is still quiet low, about 40°...

Not all 060 rev6 are able to reach 100 Mhz without issue : some yes, some no...

So, I tried with a 96 Mhz oscillator with two rev6 here, and still same issue...

When I use at 96 or 100 Mhz for every days software, that's ok !

When high calculations with the Fpu during more or less two hours, the Amiga stop working...

My rev 6 runs well at 75 on my CSPPC. I'd try and see how stable it is between 75 and 90 if you can.

I was running Apollo at 100 MHz and it needed MC68060RC60 (rev 6 of course). I think only RC60 is stable at 100 MHz (on some Atari forum I saw guys they tested RC60 up to 110 MHz on their Falcon accelerator).

Still curious if that is working with MK3, can you please test it?
