Large disk problem

I know this is Amiga 101 but it's been too long! :-)

I've a 16GB CF in my A600 and I've created 1 partition of just under 4GB and formatted with PFS3, no problems all works great.
The 2nd partition I can quick format OK (again with PFS3) and I can put files on it but after I reboot it is back to an unformatted state :-(

Pointers on what I'm doing wrong ?

Have OS 3.9 with BB1 and BB2 installed and idefx97 installed (actually found my old key!)

As you're running OS 3.9 on your A600, you obviously must have an accelerator board (with at least an 68020) fitted, as this is a pre-requirement to run OS 3.5/3.9?

Off-hand, is your identifier set correctly for all partitions?  I have it written on a post-it note here, think it's 0x50465303.  Check that? :lol:

Isn't so that you Vampire uses custom Kickstart? Wich is copied to fastram during a boot?

I have it in my self made physical kickstart and I haven't had any problems with any hard disk anymore. My boot partition is 30gb and hard disk has total 400gb space.

Hmm .. going to have to do a crash course on learning that! :-)

Only thing I can think of is that with BB2 the Apollo team have released a patch for the ROM update, I'll have to ask if there is a clash.

Using updated scsi.device with setpatch has a problems. Original scsi.device needs to see big disk and it needs to be able read it configuration. So that updated scsi.device can be loaded.

If you can use updated scsi.device from kickstart without need of setpatch prety much every hard disk works. My current 400gb hard disk didn't work at all without scsi.device 43.45 by Hodes, Wilen and Sauer.

The vampire does use a custom Kickstart, but it is not copied to fastram.

The custom KS should have scsi.device 43.46 in it, I believe.

Png images get scaled down to an unreasonable small size. Have to use jpg.

I know at least one 43.46 wich no a good. Is it for internal IDE? I prety sure that 43.45 is best one.
