LHA archive commands
« on: June 09, 2016, 07:23:51 PM »
Hello
i am trying to move files from my pc to my amiga.
I want to use LHA to preserve amiga file extensions.
However:
I cant remember the CLI command for lha

i have com as far as making the archive, and adding file in current folder.
But it wont add any further files. so far only .info files has been added to the archive.

LHA -x a "archive.name.LHA" [homedir] [@file] [destdir]

i cant remember how to address the homedir, and i cant remember how to tell lha which files to add to archive. destination directory shoul work just fine....

Can anyone help? please

Hello
I cant remember the CLI command for lha

lha -er a NAME_OF_THE_ARCHIVE FILE1 FILE2 FILE3

(e=archive empty dirs aswell, r=collect files recursively, also activates x option)

I never bothered with homedir, since specifying homedir required removing the homedir part of the path of all filenames you supply. Just 'cd' to the homedir first, then run LhA - sounds like a much simpler approach to me.

If you want to specify homedir, do it like this:

lha -er a NAME_OF_THE_ARCHIVE HOMEDIR FILE1 FILE2 FILE3

(HOMEDIR *has* to end with a slash or a colon, otherwise it won't be recognised)

Sure it does.  I've used it on my 2000, which is basically the same thing.  Suppose I could try it on my 500, as well.  Your monitor may not be able to sync to the particular refresh rate it uses, or you may need to do the firmware update.

If you post more specifics, e.g., what exactly happens when you try to use it, you might get a more useful answer.  ;)

I do exactly what the txt file says. i put the highgfx file in monitors folder on dh0, an reboot the computer. but i only get the standard screen modes.
And if i change to one of them the color goes heywire. only black and grey, even if 16 colors are selected.
plus the screen border do not fit the display at all...
