New SNES9X port for OS4.1 FE
« on: April 04, 2016, 10:27:02 AM »
Hi all,

HunoPPC from our French team did a very nice SNES9X port for AOS4.1 FE  (not working on previous versions of the OS as it has been compilated  with the new SDK).

This is the first version, expect more to come ! You can download it here : http://os4depot.net/?function=showfi...tem/snes9x.zip

On my PEG II, it is almost fullspeed, on an X1000 it is fullspeed.

Main features :

- Joystick support
- Mode 7 and Super FX support
- Filters
-...

Test it and report back problems and wanted improvements

Enjoy.

I agree with the previous speakers. Seems good!

Please add support for super mario kart in the next release, it's one of the very few snes games i'm familiar with and used to love :)

It looks gorgeous! Very nice port indeed. The limitation of games though, snes9x should work with every ROM out there so what's that about? Also regarding speed, I don't know about the current version but older versions ran fine on a CSPPC and on my XE. SNES9x also runs at full speed on my Samsung Galaxy SIII, although that CPU is faster than the G4 in my XE.

I tried it with the Retro Design joystick adapter and a CD32-pad which I thought would be perfect for SNES emulation but only some buttons worked and I don't know if you can configure it somehow? I only tried it quickly with Super Mario World.

RTM please !

I dont think you are limited in the games, the list provided is a complete setup of preview and game box. you can add any game you have but you will not have the preview and game box !

You are a prime example of why anything Amiga is a bad idea. You think that this attitude makes anyone use anything Amiga-related?

I've read the manual and unless you got some real examples of that what you're claiming is true.... In what way does your guessing help anyone?
