EZHOME X10 software released by Jim Hines

I finally tracked Jim Hines down,the author of EZHOME and EZCRON amiga X-10 home control software. He was kind enough to give me permission to release it.
Jim no longer supports it so please don't bother him .:banana:

The software uses the CM11A x-10 controller, these are still available and work with many common control modules.a quick google search will find the controllers.

I have submitted it to Aminet but it has not appeared yet,so i uploaded it here:

X-10 is cool stuff, limited number of channels but still very useful

Awesome, looks very advanced for its time!  I currently use INSTEON here with an ISY controller.

INSTEON has more functionality and devices but only works on windows :-(

FYI a lot of INSTEON devices also had the ability to be programmed with X10 addresses.  Not sure if they still do.  

The ISY can also send and react to X10 commands so seems like you could integrate your Amiga into a modern home automation setup pretty easily with this application.

Just stumbled across this thread. While I had a vague recollection of the Name "EZHome" I didn't know what it stands for. So I followed your link to the old web-archive article about it.

Having read the article I have to say I'm impressed.
Didn't know such a cool tool existed for the Amiga!

Will definitely download it, buy the CM11A Controller and 'play' with it - maybe I can discover some other purposes to use it for!

You wrote he gave you the permission to release the software. Did he also give you access to the source code, so that the software could be updated/advanced by interested people?

the cm11a can be found all over us ebay:

Being 120v these will not work for you likely. The XTB-232 should work,but i have no experience with it.

Is the dev section the source code of ezhome (and other parts of this) or is that an SDK to hook into it only? Would be nice if we could get full sources as well.

Hi,
You should be able to find CM11's in Europe as people upgrade their HA systems. I still have one in use with a few X10 modules, but have mainly updated my HA to Z-wave. I think I will be able to put my hands on another CM11 and a few X10 modules towards the end of the year if anybody is interested (UK type).

Hi all,

Does anybody in the UK want to try X10 with the Amiga software mentioned above ? I now have:

One CM12u including a 9 pin serial lead. I believe this is the European version of the CM11, but I can't prove that (But see below).
Four AM12 appliance modules (With code wheels)
One Domia appliance module (No code wheels)
Two LM12 lamp modules (With code wheels)
Four Domia lamp modules (No code wheels)
One LM15EB "Socket rocket" plugs into a BC lamp connector and the bulb plugs into it.

FYI:
1. Appliance modules are on/off switches with internal relays, and lamp modules are dimmers for incandescent bulbs.
2. I presently use a CM12u with Homeseer HS3, where it is set as "CM11A compatible".

These X10 devices were working properly when removed from my other property. I'm sure there must be a couple more modules, as I can't find the rf to X10 modules, which allow you to use X10 rf remote controls. I will have a dig around.

I have the option of selling this kit on Ebay (after testing it) where I would be asking around £10 per device, or, if there is any interest on this forum, I will sell it without testing for a low price.

Is anybody interested ?
