Actually both ADD & ADHD are correct. Even when young not everybody with ADD is hyper. Non-hyper ADD people are the ones who can look out a window for hours while their thoughts bounce around like the steel ball in a Pachinko pinball machine. A lot of ADHD kids grow out of the hyper part, but not necessarily the ADD component.
I have a nephew who outgrew the hyper part. He did not loose all the ADD, but learned to disapline himself. Now he's a freshman on full scholarship at one of the top ten academic universities in the U.S.A.
